Earthship buildings are designed to be autonomous and self-sufficient. They are machines for living that provide their occupants power, water and sewage treatment with no utility bills.
The systems that support an Earthship are the product of dozens of years of research and development and are highly involved and interconnected. During the classroom lectures students learn about the design and function of each system. During the Labs students learn the “nuts and bolts” of systems components and work hands-on with the materials that comprise each component. They also learn how to operate and care for an Earthship home and its systems.
